There are good soul ties and bad soul ties, just as there are healthy relationships and unhealthy ones. My wife and I dealt with soul ties, through the ministry of deliverance, long before we had much understanding of them. In fact, long before someone introduced the designation “soul ties,” we referred to them as “unholy alliances” or “perverse relationships.” Through the deliverance ministry, soul ties are encountered regularly and their power over individuals’ lives needs to be broken.
Yes, soul ties are real, but what are they? What is the scriptural basis for understanding soul ties? How are they formed? Are they always demonic? What danger is there in soul ties? How can they be broken? In this booklet, Frank Hammond explains the root causes of these ties and how to distinguish between Godly and demonic soul ties.

I suppose this little 18 page booklet is a good place to start if you are just beginning to learn about soul ties. It certainly doesn't do the subject justice. It is after all just a small booklet. I was hoping that this author might have some really good insight on the subject. I have one of his books and loved it. But this is a very slim booklet that just touches on the various types of soul ties.Search the internet for information on 'soul ties, Christian' and you will find a wealth of information. This is a very important topic to delve into. It is very much misunderstood, rarely taught about, and extremely important to understand when trying to move on from a toxic relationship be it with, friends, family, ministers, or sexual relationships. Toxic soul ties bind us to toxic people in ways that make it very difficult to move on and away from the toxic person without breaking the soul tie. Since I have learned how toxic soul ties hinder people in their Christian growth I have begun ministering to friends who are hurting and I was looking for an easy to read book to share with them but this really doesn't go into enough detail for my purposes.
This is my own description about soul ties-- this is not from the booklet:
In the worst case think of a kidnap victim that becomes bonded to their kidnapper and will even testify to the goodness in the kidnapper. They have formed a toxic soul tie that binds them to this person. An invisible tie that the onlooker cannot fathom or understand but the victim is none the less soul tied and helpless to break away. Think of abused women who can't leave their abuser even though they really could but they are continually drawn back into the drama. Their friends and family are perplexed and even angry that the woman keeps putting herself back into the abusive relationship. Or maybe you have a long time friend who has repeatedly back stabbed you, talks nasty to you, convinces you to do things that you don't want to do-- but you can't walk away from them, you find every excuse to keep them in your life, you feel sorry for them, you are too weak to end the friendship. Being too weak to end a friendship is a sure sign of a toxic soul tie. Being controlled by another person is a sure sign of a toxic soul tie and usually the person who is being controlled can't even see it. They have become so weak that they are blinded to the power that a toxic person and soul tie have over their life. If you can't get a lover out of your head regardless of the circumstances (one that you loved but are divorced from, one that you can't stand, but you are broken up from) you are laboring under the bindings of a soul tie.
Anyone that you had a past sexual experience with be it rape or marriage-- you have formed a soul tie with. The soul tie must be broken to go on and live a full life separated from that person even in the case of a rape, often women will be haunted by the experience for years following a rape attack or a date rape. (This does not apply to a marriage that is still active hopefully that is a good soul tie which biblically what we were designed to have.) But a divorce requires breaking the soul tie. You won't be aware of the pull that the tie has on you and your mind until you break it and immediately you will wake up from the spiritual chains that are binding you together.
In the bible an example of a rape and a soul tie being formed from the rapist's side:
[Genesis 34
Now Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to see the women of the land. 2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her, he seized her and lay with her and humiliated her. 3 And his soul was drawn to Dinah the daughter of Jacob. He loved the young woman and spoke tenderly to her. 4 So Shechem spoke to his father Hamor, saying, "Get me this girl for my wife."
5 Now Jacob heard that he had defiled his daughter Dinah. But his sons were with his livestock in the field, so Jacob held his peace until they came. 6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out to Jacob to speak with him. 7 The sons of Jacob had come in from the field as soon as they heard of it, and the men were indignant and very angry, because he had done an outrageous thing in Israel by lying with Jacob's daughter, for such a thing must not be done.
8 But Hamor spoke with them, saying, "The soul of my son Shechem longs for your daughter. Please give her to him to be his wife. 9 Make marriages with us. Give your daughters to us, and take our daughters for yourselves. 10 You shall dwell with us, and the land shall be open to you. Dwell and trade in it, and get property in it." 11 Shechem also said to her father and to her brothers, o"Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you say to me I will give. 12 Ask me for as great a pbride price2 and gift as you will, and I will give whatever you say to me. Only give me the young woman to be my wife."]
People will find once a soul tie is broken (Immediately) they can break off relationships they can walk away from these toxic people and move on in their own lives. It is amazing that a toxic soul tie is almost as if a witchcraft spell is hanging over a person's head and life and when the spell is broken (the soul tie) they wake up and can function like a normal person not under the spell.

Great book, wish it were longer. Gave great understanding on how soul ties work.
I originally bought this book some years ago as a booklet, and was so happy to see it as an E-Book. Very helpful in learning about soul ties!
I wish it was longer and in more detail. I guess more examples to relate too. However, it was to the point.
I found this booklet to be very informative. I needed it to do a study and I received the booklet within a couple days of my order and collected all the information and compared it with some other books that I have. Good book and easy to understand the teaching.
Through the ministry of this book I have been set free. Thank You Jesus!! My spiritual progress in Christ and with the Body of Christ was severely crippled through ungodly soul ties. But thank God for deliverance.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. The content regarding soul ties hit home. I just wish there was more book. This is actually a booklet. It was quite short and the print was very large. So it was even shorter. Just a bit pricey for the size. I will get it from Christianbooks next time because you save about 50%. It's a great book to pass to a friend once you are done. It's the type of info you certainly want to share.
I needed to address this issue as I think a neighbor has developed a soul tie with one of my children.He's an adult but still as a parent you pray over your children. This book was a great resource for me as I go into prayer concerning this situation. The book gets to the point quickly and gives scripture reference.
